LimeGreen Earth recently negotiated an agreement that provides guaranteed acreage on which to plant your carbon sequestered trees. We’d like to thank the private landowners who came together and understand the need for such a project.

Our acreage is in South Australia, on farmland outside of Adelaide. We will be using aforestation techniques. Our team will be planting mallee trees as they provide a good carbon sink. Mallee trees have very thick roots, and a special root system called a lignotuber.

This closely resembles that of a carrot, where it stores the plant's food, primarily carbon based. The versatility of the mallee allows it to grow back if damaged by fire or harvesting, a process known as coppicing. The mallee is very quick growing and well adapted to low rainfall, which ensures the most prosperous growth in the South Australia climate. We also support two types of carbon offsetting projects. One, which burns methane gas in disused coal mines for recovery, the other which converts waste gas to renewable power. All of our projects are verified by the VCS (Voluntary Carbon Standard), which ensures that the projects we support are held to the highest possible standards and accountability in carbon offsetting.
